Cottleville – Our Newest Purple Heart City

Public House in Cottleville
New Purple Heart City in Our County
Cottleville Missouri was recently designated as a “Purple Heart City” by the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Missouri Chapter 125. The Cottleville City Council, at its May 18th meeting, announced and declared Cottleville a Purple Heart City, expressing gratitude for the military and veterans. Tonight, veterans and patriots alike gathered at the Public School House in Cottleville to honor and pay tribute to all veterans with a special focus on Purple Heart recipients who have earned the military tribute by virtue of their bravery and sacrifice.  Created by George Washington, the Purple Heart is the nation’s oldest military award. The award acknowledges the physical sacrifice of our soldiers to our nation. In attendance to congratulate the city, the community and to thank our veterans, was House Speaker Pro Tem John Wieman and Missouri State Representative Nick Schroer.  An estimated 1.8 million Purple Hearts have been awarded to U.S. troops.  God Bless Our Veterans!
