Larry Zigler is a Marine that fought for this country in the Vietnam war. Larry served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded 5 Purple Hearts. Many years later due to bullets that they couldn’t extract, he became wheelchair bound. Right as we were on alert for COVID19, he suffered another heart attack at home.
Due to his health and the risk of catching the virus, they told him that they could not see him at the hospital, and he had to take it easy at home. He finally was able to be seen within the last day or so by the heart doctor. His care giver, his lovely wife, told us Sunday that it was not good news.
The doctor can no longer treat his heart because he has had so many heart attacks. His heart is too weak for further surgery. The doctor told them to wake up and enjoy their day. His wife, Karen, says that he is so weak and was complaining of chest pains. If he goes to the hospital, they will just keep him comfortable and eventually let him go. Due to the current pandemic his wife would not be allowed to be there with him, so they decided to try and make him as comfortable as possible at home.
So the point of this post is to see if we can come together and do something special for Larry. We are hoping we could show love to a Marine here in St. Charles County that faithfully sacrificed his life for us Americans.
They live at 101 Bear Claw Drive here in Wentzville.
We will meet this Sunday, the 24th at Agape Church Parking Lot and head out at about 3:55pm. (Per Agape’s website they will not have a church service at that time so we should not be a bother)
140 N Point Prairie Rd
Wentzville, MO 63385
Of course we are unsure of what the turn out will be so in order to keep the traffic flowing, those that would like to come back for the Divine Mercy Chaplet prayer, please meet back at Agape Church Parking Lot. There will be someone in charge there letting everyone know when the cars have cleared to come back to Larry’s home. We will pray while social distancing.
The goal is to show Larry he has many in the many communities supporting him and sending him love and respect. We will exceed that goal!
