O’Fallon Firefighters Community Outreach

Sponsoring our Veterans History Project for 2023
Thank You O’Fallon Firefighters Community Outreach

Recently, the O’Fallon Firefighters Community Outreach team agreed to sponsor our Interview with Heroes – Our Veterans program for 2023.  The Outreach team provides fundraising, donations and manpower to citizens and organizations in need within O’Fallon Fire Protection District boundaries.  Our interview program is unique because high school students after prerequisite training, interview and record the stories of our veterans.  The story is then sent to the Library of Congress in Washington DC where it is stored, preserved, made accessible to the public.

The other day, Cody Willlis, President of the Community Outreach (Right) and Jeff Smith (Left) presented an iPad, iPad mini and accessories to the museum for use in the program.  The Firefighters are also actively reaching out to local high schools to promote the program.  The museum is seeking veterans and students to participate in the interviews.  Garvis Pollard (Second from right) a Vietnam Veteran administers the program at the museum.  For more information, call 636-294-2657.
