Quilts of Valor

Craig Stankovich, Vietnam Veteran US Army 1969-1972

Craig Stankovich is a Volunteer is the St. Charles County Veterans Museum.  Besides his leadership role at the museum, Craig donates significant time, building displays, as a handyman, and serving on the exhibit committee.  Long before there was a museum, Craig served in the US Army from 1969-1972.  Craig also did a tour in Vietnam.  Craig was recently honored by Quilts of Valor.  The mission of Quilts of Valor is to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.  They stood in harm’s way to protect our freedom.  While Craig was fortunate to complete his tour and return home, many in Craig’s outfit did not.

Quilts of Valor are made by the loving hands of countless volunteers who wish to thank those who have served and to honor their service and sacrifice.  To date, Quilts of Valor have awarded more than 250,000 quilts.

Congratulations Craig on a well-deserved honor.  To review the Quilt Award guidelines or to nominate a soldier or veteran, visit:
