Rest In Peace Eric Rucker

Our hearts are heavy with the news of the death of SSgt Eric Rucker in Killen Texas.  Eric G. Rucker was born on 2-JUL 1993 in St. Louis Missouri.

He was a 29-year-old staff sergeant in the U.S. Army based at Fort Cavazos.  Eric graduated boot camp at Ft. Benning, Georgia in July 2015. He moved through the ranks to Staff Sargent and received several awards and accommodations throughout his career. This year his unit 2nd Battalion, 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment “Ghost Battalion” received the title of Top Gun for 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.

Eric Rucker died in a hit-and-run crash in Killeen, Texas, on June 11.  Police are still looking for the driver who hit Rucker.  Eric leaves behind three children with one on the way.  Eric’s wife recently relocated back to St. Louis ahead of Eric’s upcoming deployment.  He had several deployments during his service.

God bless his family and friends.
