Bill entered the service out of college as a Second Lieutenant.  His civilian occupation, according to Army records, was listed as foreman at an aircraft plant and pilot. Bill served in Korea, Vietnam and the Congo.  Bill served twenty-five years active and reserve from 1946 to 1971.  He attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
