Edward John Blake
Edward John Blake was born in 20-AUG 1918 in Jackson Michigan and enjoyed a peaceful life in Clark Lake a few miles from Jackson. His father was Edward T. Blake, and his mother was Emma Grace Branchflower Blake. Edward co-managed the family general store until November 1940 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
After training, Edward was off to Europe, arriving in France on D-Day during the Normandy invasion. Edward first saw action at the battle around Sainte Mere Eglise.
Edward would go on to earn a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and three Purple Hearts.
