Tom enlisted 25-JAN 1944 at Jefferson Barracks in Missouri.   Thomas Buss served in the 381st Regiment, Company M in the 96th Army Division.  The division was ordered into active service on 15-AUG 1942, eight months after the attack on Pearl Harbor brought the United States into World War II. 

Tom’s last action was on Okinawa, the meat grinder.
