Thomas Patrick Corcoran

Thomas Patrick Corcoran was born 26-JUL 1926.  His father was Thomas Andrew Corcoran (1893-1963) and his mother was Norine “Nora” Frances Meany (1896-1989).  He had three brothers: William (1927-1946), Michael (1941-2016), and John (1929-2018), and one sister: Dolores (Mary) (1931-2021).  The family lived on Page Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri. Thomas was a McBride High School graduate, Class of 1944.  Thomas registered for the draft on 24-JUL 1944.   He listed his employer as St. Louis Theater on Grand and Delmar.  He was inducted into the Marines on 9-OCT 1944 shortly after graduation.  His induction letter stated, “For Duration of National Emergency.”

Thomas’ first action would be on Okinawa near the end of World War II.  Sadly, Thomas wouldn’t come home.
