Frank Alfred Dennis
Frank Alfred Dennis was born 21-JUL 1910 in Washington, Missouri. His father was Henry Thomas Dennis Sr. (1861–1925) and his mother was Mary Olena Sturgeon (1870–1932). Frank was their only child.
Frank married Helen Jesse Loveland on August 1, 1930, in St Louis, Missouri. Frank and Helen had six children: Rosene, Dolores, Betty, Robert, William, and Richard.
There are many reasons why Tom Brokaw called Frank’s generation was call “The Greatest.”
Frank enlisted in the Army 22-JUL 1944. He was 34 years old, and had five children at the time. His Military Occupation Service (MOS) was listed as Anti-Tank Crew Gunman 610 and he would be be in heavy combat. Frank would earn a Bronze Star for singlehandedly capturing about 15 German soldiers while carrying a wounded comrade to safety.
