Albert Francis (Frank) Ell was born 23-FEB-1893. He lived in St Peters MO. His parents were Martha Magdalen Boschert (1871-1932) and Joseph Ell (1863-1943). He had five brothers: Joseph, Leo, Peter, Henry and Arthur. He had two sisters: Mary and Martha. His occupation was listed as a farmer and laborer working for his father. Albert died of disease, the Spanish Influenza, in camp on 5-JAN-1919.  More U.S. soldiers died from the 1918 flu than were killed in battle during the war. Forty percent of the U.S. Navy was hit with the flu, while 36 percent of the Army became ill, and troops moving around the world in crowded ships and trains helped to spread the killer virus.

Nearly thirty men in the military, residents of St. Charles County, died in the service of our country 1918-1919 because of influenza.  Albert F. Ell is buried in All Saints Cemetery in St. Peters, MO.

To memorialize Albert, All Saints Church in St. Peters Missouri installed a stained-glass window with his name imbedded.
