Richard Rice enlisted in the Army on 30 September 1965.  After Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood he was stationed at Fort Jackson, SC for AIT, and had Combat Engineer Training at Fort Belvoir, VA.  He departed for Vietnam on 1 December 1966 and in January 1967 was assigned to Company C, 39th Engineer Battalion as a Combat Demolition Specialist. Rich is the son-in-law of our founder, Ralph Barrale Sr.
