Schuttenberg, William Charles

Died While Serving 26-SEP 1918

William Charles Schuttenberg was born 26-JAN-1890 in Montrose MO (Western MO).  He lived in Augusta.  He was a clerk in General Merchandise store.  His father was Fritz Schuettenberg (1863-1933) and mother was Minnie C. Emke Schuettenberg (1865-1927).  He had two brothers; Walter and Otto.  He had one sister; Angela.  He entered the service on 27-MAY 1918.  Private Schuettenberg left for overseas 9-AUG 1918.  He died of the Spanish Influenza 26-SEP-1918.  The Post-Dispatch newspaper reported on 20-DEC-1918: William died of disease at Hericourt-en-Caux, Departement de la SeineMaritime, Haute-Normandie, France. William is buried in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Augusta MO.
