Virgil Turpin was born 8-JUN 1988.  His parents were Hugh Turpin (18651936) and Johanna Page Turpin (1870-1933).  According the census reports, He had seven brothers; Hugh, Gus, George, Trevie, Forest, Clarence and Archie and five sisters; Mary, Josephine, Josie, Oma and Owe.  Virgil’s draft registration says he was born in Moscow Mills, living in St. Louis on Washington and was employed as a salesman.  He was a Corporal in the Army.  Virgil died of disease, the Spanish Flu at Camp Funston on 13-OCT-1918.  

The local newspapers reported: Services will be in charge of the home guard.  Funeral 19OCT-1918 in Wentzville. The Wentzville Union reported: Virgil was well-known and his death will cause sorrow to everyone.  Virgil Turpin is buried at Linn Cemetery in Wentzville.
