Marine Fighter Squadron 324

Charles Daniel Woehrle was born 6-Oct 1923 in Overland Missouri.  

In 1943 Charles was at the Naval Air Training Center in Corpus Christi Texas.  He would later be assigned to a Marine fighter wing.  The Devil Dogs VMF-324 was established as Marine Fighter Squadron 324 on 1-OCT 1943, then VMF-324.  Charles designed the Squadron Devil Dog patch for VMF-324.  Charles served in World War II and Korea. He received a Purple Heart and was three times awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
