World War II Veteran Visits the Museum

B-17 Flying Fortress, The E-RAT-ICATOR

World War II Flying Fortress Bombardier

Always nice with visit with Paul “Bud” Haedike.  Bud is a World War II veteran who flew as a bombardier on a B-17 Flying Fortress named the “E-RAT-ICATOR.”  After being shot down on his first mission, Bud went on to fly another 22 missions before the war ended.  Bud visited with his daughter Debbie and her husband Joe Mayer.

Stay tuned for an announcement for a special night at the museum in October where Bud will share his World War II story.

Bud’s story is featured on this website.
